Maryknoll Lay Missioners

Maryknoll Lay Missioners is a Roman Catholic organization inspired by the mission of Jesus to live and work in poor communities in Africa, Asia, and North America, responding to basic needs and helping to create a more just and compassionate world.

Maryknoll Lay Missioners is one of the three separately operated entities of Maryknoll Missioners, a U.S.-based Catholic mission movement. The other entities include the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers (The Catholic Foreign Mission Society of America) and the Maryknoll Sisters (Maryknoll Sisters of St. Dominic). Since 1911, Maryknoll has responded to the worldwide cry of people in need, such as the poor, the sick, the elderly, war-zone refugees, and orphans. Each branch is separately funded and depends on its own donors for support.

The missioners working for Maryknoll Lay Missioners believe that, ultimately, compassion transforms lives. Through the compassion and generosity of contributors, the missioners work to create a more just and compassionate world by responding to the needs of the poor.

Sam Stanton[1] and Alicia Butkiewicz[2] are members of the Leadership Team of the Maryknoll Lay Missioners.
